The common automobile headlights include halogen lamp, LED lamp and xenon lamp, but the brightness of halogen lamp is relatively low, so more people choose LED lamp and xenon lamp, but they don't know whether LED is better or xenon lamp. The light-emitting diode, which uses the solid semiconductor chip as the light-emitting material, causes the photon emission through the carrier recombination, thus the light-emitting.

Advantages: fast starting speed, low working temperature, stable performance, long life and energy saving;

Disadvantages: poor heat dissipation, low penetration, troublesome maintenance, high damage rate and high maintenance cost.

That is to say, the high-pressure gas discharge lamp is filled with inert gas such as xenon in the quartz lamp tube, and then the 12 V power supply of the vehicle is increased to 23000 V instantaneously through the supercharger. Under the high voltage, the xenon is ionized and an arc is generated between the two poles of the power supply, so as to light up.

Advantages: high brightness, 4-6 times of halogen lamp, no glare, and better durability than halogen lamp;

Disadvantages: poor concentration, high working temperature, delayed start-up, power consumption and poor stability.

The power of vehicle xenon lamp is generally 35W, and its brightness is converted into lumen (CD), about 3200-3600; while the power of general LED lamp is between 20-40w, and its brightness is between 2000-4000. Therefore, in theory, xenon lamp is brighter than LED lamp, but the color temperature of LED lamp is higher, the light is more dazzling, in fact, it will appear brighter.
